Separation agreements

Everys Solicitors understands that a relationship breakdown can be painful. If your relationship has broken down within a year of marriage, you cannot legally divorce but you may still wish to separate on formal terms. If you are in this situation and are unsure whether separation is appropriate in your circumstances, our family lawyers can advise you of your legal position and the options available to you.

If you do require a separation agreement, we can prepare and negotiate this on your behalf. Your agreement can be as detailed as you require and we will be guided by your aims of separation. We will also advise you where you ought to be seeking  financial  provision and protection. A timetable for divorce can also be drafted into proceedings, if appropriate.

Our solicitors in family law aim to try to avoid court action where possible and a separation agreement can help you achieve this. Where court proceedings do follow, we will advise on how your agreement may help your position.
