Janet Keirle is a Chartered Legal Executive working in the Commercial/Agricultural Property department based in Taunton. Janet joined Everys in 2019 and works alongside Andrew Green. Janet originally trained in residential property but moved to Commercial/Agricultural legal practice over 12 years ago.
Janet specialises in the sale and purchase of agricultural property and land; Landlord and Tenant, including leases for Commercial clients; and the sale and purchase of businesses. She has a pro-active, can-do attitude, and a friendly nature.
Jo joined Everys in 2010 as a commercial property lawyer having previously worked in London for a large investment bank. Her caseload includes a wide-range of commercial and property work including the sale and purchase of land and property, easements, options, conditional contracts, commercial leases, promotion agreements and commercial developments.
Jo has strong long-standing relationships with many of her clients. She enjoys the day-to-day challenge of applying her practical knowledge and experience, and working towards achieving positive and pragmatic results.
Charles Cuthbert is the Senior Partner at Everys. He joined the firm in 1980 and has recently returned to our Exmouth office, having overseen the Dubai office for almost 10 years.
Charles handles all types of property transactions as well as some private client work. He is also a Judicial Officer dealing with disciplinary hearings in rugby for the RFU, the PRO14 league, Asia Rugby and World Rugby.
A lawyer of exceptional talent and skill, James’ ability to speak in an easy-to-understand manner is a trait which is appreciated by his many clients. James is a highly experienced Commercial Litigator acting for clients in UK court proceedings, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
James enjoys the challenges of complex, multi-jurisdictional business transactions and uses his significant experience to help devise and implement the strategic objectives of his clients.
James’ expertise covers a variety of sectors with an emphasis on investment and property development, including hotels and student accommodation. James provides guidance on the key issues affecting the establishment of business entities in the UK and overseas, as well as non-resident individuals looking to invest in the UK. In addition to these, James regularly advises clients on family business succession, farming and rural issues – an area particularly close to his heart as he owns a small-holding in Somerset.
Colin Chesterton is a consultant solicitor whose expertise lies in Regulatory Law, Court of Protection and the office of the Public Guardian, and Disability Living Allowance. Colin also provides support regarding Liquor Licensing issues and general civil litigation. Prior to joining Everys in 2003, Colin was a partner with a local firm for over 20 years.
Colin has been a Solicitor Member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal for 25 years, and is currently the Chairman of the Colyton Feoffees, which, in 2020, is celebrating 474 years since being granted the Charter by King Henry VIII.
