Ben Howe

Ben Howe joined Everys in January 2022 as a Property Paralegal in both our residential and commercial property departments based in Exeter.

Ben graduated from University with a degree in History and is soon to be qualified with an LLM in Legal and Law Studies.

Ben is a keen sportsman playing both cricket and rugby locally and has played rugby internationally for Belgium.

Freya Mason

Freya Mason

Freya Mason joined Everys in January 2022 as a Property Paralegal working in both the Residential and Commercial Property Departments based in Exeter. Freya graduated with a 2:1 degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford in 2021, where she received an award for academic excellence. Prior to joining Everys, Freya completed international internships in Human Rights and Immigration Law but looks forward to taking on a new challenge exploring Property Law.

Freya enjoys problem-solving complexities in the law and is a friendly and personable presence for clients. She approaches work with enthusiasm and with fine attention to detail.

In her spare time, Freya enjoys anything crafty, spending time with friends and family, and travelling.

Candice Moore

Candice Moore

Candice joined Everys in 2017 and is a Conveyancing Paralegal in our Residential Property Department based at our Taunton office. She has been working in law for over eight years and has completed the CILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice.

Candice is passionate about giving a friendly and efficient service when assisting clients in their transactions.

Outside of work Candice enjoys spending time with family, dog walks, socialising with friends, and reading.

Mark Willows

Mark Willows

Mark works alongside Everys as a self-employed Licensed Conveyancer and brings with him a wealth of property experience, having dealt with all types of conveyancing transactions from residential matters to commercial acquisitions and development work.

Mark was previously a Partner and Head of Department with an Exeter-based firm where he acted for both Local and Regional Developers in the acquisition of development sites and the subsequent sales of the developed units.

Whilst still undertaking some development work, Mark is now primarily focusing his attention on residential property work, including sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity.

Mark prides himself on providing his clients with a high level of service, progressing matters as quickly and efficiently as possible, and ensuring that clients are kept updated and informed at all stages of the process. He is known for his pragmatic approach to transactions and his ability to ‘think outside the box’ to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients. Consequently, Mark receives a high number of recommendations from satisfied clients.

Outside the office, Mark likes to play the odd round of golf and is a die-hard Grimsby Town fan.

Jethro Clark

Jethro Clark

Jethro Clark is a paralegal in our Residential Conveyancing department. He is based in the Taunton office and works with Conveyancing Executive Kerry Raines, as well as other members of the team.

Jethro aims to keep matters running smoothly in the background to allow Kerry and the team to focus on aspects most important to clients. He understands property touches the most intimate aspects of private life and aims to ease the stressful process through a pragmatic and proactive approach.

Jethro graduated from the University of Reading in 2021 where he studied Law. As part of his degree, he spent one year studying abroad at Uppsala University in Sweden. In his free time, Jethro enjoys keeping active by swimming, cycling, and playing hockey for ECV Hornets.

Kerry Raines

Kerry Raines

Kerry Raines is a Conveyancing Executive based in our Taunton office. She joined Everys in July 2021, having previously worked at another local firm for six years.

Kerry deals with residential conveyancing including freehold, leasehold, unregistered, and transfers of equity and re-mortgages.

Kerry likes to build a rapport with her clients and guide them through the conveyancing process, maintaining a friendly, professional manner.

Kerry likes to spend time with her family and walking with her dogs.

Anna Manning

Anna Manning

Anna is a Senior Associate in our Residential Property team. She joined Everys in 2021 having previously practised as a property law solicitor in Devon and Somerset for over 15 years. She works from both our Taunton and Honiton offices and is happy to meet with clients in whichever location is most convenient for them.

Anna has a broad range of experience in all aspects of residential property, including new build, leasehold, unregistered land and transfers of part. She works for a wide array of clients, from first time buyers or buy to let investors to those buying a substantial forever home. She understands the stress of buying and selling property and will work to make the whole process as stress free and smooth as possible.

Tracy Willows

Tracy Willows

Tracy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, having qualified in 1998. Initially specialising in Civil Litigation, Tracy transferred to property in 2002 and has built up an extensive knowledge in the field over her many years in practice. She works alongside Everys as a self-employed Consultant.

Tracy deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages. She is known for her attention to detail, proactive approach and friendly, approachable manner. Tracy is frequently re-instructed by satisfied clients and recommended to others.

Working very closely with her clients, Tracy keeps them fully updated throughout the whole process providing clear, pragmatic advice and communicating regularly with others involved in the transaction to ensure that the process is as seamless and stress-free as possible.

Tracy has worked for many years in the Exeter/East Devon area and therefore has a good local knowledge of the area.

Jo Barrett

Jo Barrett

Jo Barrett is a Conveyancing Executive based in the Honiton office who specialises in residential sales and purchases. Jo deals with a lot of probate sales and acts for clients in the sales and purchases of park homes.

Jo joined Everys in 2015 having previously worked in an Exeter firm for almost ten years.

Jo likes to build a good rapport with the local estate agents and aims to make the conveyancing process for the clients as stress-free as possible, maintaining a friendly and approachable manner throughout.

In her spare time Jo likes walking, baking and days out with her family.

Charlotte Marsh

Charlotte Marsh

Charlotte Marsh is an Associate in our Seaton office. She joined the firm in February 2021 having previously worked at an Exeter-based firm for nearly 10 years.

Charlotte has a range of property experience with both freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, including new build properties, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages. She is also familiar with the Help to Buy scheme and the set-up of new build estates including Cranbrook.

Sarah Bell

Sarah Bell

Sarah Bell is a Residential Conveyancer in the Sidmouth office, working closely alongside Clare Stanbury.

Sarah has been at Everys since 2008, starting as an Office Assistant at the Honiton branch before moving to work in Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth in a variety of roles in the Conveyancing team. During this time, Sarah worked full-time at Everys while completing the Level 3 Cilex Diploma in Law and Practice, with freehold conveyancing as her specialist unit.

Working in a fast-paced team, Sarah thrives when working with time-sensitive matters, using a pragmatic and efficient approach to ensure the best results for her clients to help achieve their goals.

 

Clare Stanbury

Clare Stanbury

Clare is a Solicitor in the Residential Property team based in Sidmouth. She joined Everys in June 2020 from a Kent firm, relocating to be closer to family in Devon. Clare advises on all aspects of residential property, including:

Clare won an award at a previous firm for client care and is a conscientious lawyer who enjoys assisting clients through the conveyancing process to the reward of a completed transaction. Clare has acted for a variety of clients, from first-time buyers to buy-to-let investors and property developers and takes pride in offering an efficient and friendly service to all. Following her move to Devon, Clare is excited to discover the delights of her new local area. Outside of the office, Clare enjoys being beside the seaside, walks in the country, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the world by cruise ship.

Charlotte Pickford

Charlotte Pickford

Charlotte Pickford is a Senior Associate in our Residential Property department and is based at our Exmouth office. Charlotte has over 12 years’ experience in residential property and qualified as a Fellow of CILEX in 2012.

Charlotte advises on all matters of residential property including sales, purchases, remortgages, and Transfers of Equity. She also deals with new build properties and the Help to Buy scheme.

Charlotte is an Exmouth local, having been born there, and she is well-known by the local estate agents.

Alex Whitmore

Alex Whitmore

Alex Whitmore is a solicitor in our Residential Property team based in Exmouth. He joined Everys as a paralegal in 2017 and embarked on his training contract in 2018. Alex was admitted as a solicitor on 1st April 2020.

Alex has a broad experience of residential property, from freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, to dealings with unregistered land, transfers of part and residential lease extensions. Alex also has experience of working for a wide range of clients, from first time buyers through to those purchasing leasehold retirement flats. Having spent time working in the Family and Private Client departments during his training contract, Alex is also accustomed to dealing with transfers of equity following divorce and the sale of property on behalf of executors.

Alex prides himself on his work ethic and his down to earth manner. In his spare time, Alex is an enthusiastic rock climber as well as a student of traditional Jiu Jitsu.

John Dobie

John Dobie

John Dobie is an experienced solicitor with over 40 years’ practice in residential property work. Based out of our Exmouth office, John continues to specialise in residential property and is also responsible for residential and commercial property file audits and reviews throughout the firm.

Prior to joining Everys, John was a senior partner with a large regional firm based in Exeter for many years. He was also Head of the firm’s Residential Property Department and ran one of its branch offices before relocating to their Head Office in Exeter.

John acts for clients from many parts of the country as well as Devon. He has enjoyed a close working relationship with Everys since working in East Devon in the late 1980’s.

 

Rachel Craddy

Rachel Craddy

Rachel Craddy is a Senior Associate in the Residential Property Department based in Exeter. With over 13 years’ experience, Rachel has vast practical knowledge of all aspects of conveyancing and has advised on:

  • Development plots
  • Deeds of Grant
  • Transfers of parts
  • Unregistered land
  • Leasehold enfranchisement

Rachel’s experience includes:

  • Acting for clients acquiring a site for residential development, then drafting and dealing with the subsequent individual plot sales and management company set up for the communal areas.
  • Acting in the surrender and re-grant of residential leases from a resident-owned management company, including re-drawing plans to reflect the individual demised premises, negotiating service charge proportions and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Drafting deeds to assist in the grant, release or variation of easements e.g. rights of way, and covenants (restrictions on use of a property).
  • Lease extensions for both landlords and tenants on a consensual basis.
  • Rural conveyancing including flying freeholds, septic tanks, conversions, listed buildings, S157 residency restrictions.
