Charlotte Pickford is an Associate in the Conveyancing department and is based at our Exmouth office. Charlotte has over 12 years’ experience in residential property and qualified as a Fellow of CILEX in 2012.
Charlotte advises on all matters of residential property including sales, purchases, remortgages and Transfers of Equity. She also deals with new build properties and the Help to Buy scheme.
Charlotte is an Exmouth local, having been born there, and she is well-known by the local estate agents.
Alex Whitmore is a solicitor in our Residential Property team based in Exmouth. He joined Everys as a paralegal in 2017 and embarked on his training contract in 2018. Alex was admitted as a solicitor on 1st April 2020.
Alex has a broad experience of residential property, from freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, to dealings with unregistered land, transfers of part and residential lease extensions. Alex also has experience of working for a wide range of clients, from first time buyers through to those purchasing leasehold retirement flats. Having spent time working in the Family and Private Client departments during his training contract, Alex is also accustomed to dealing with transfers of equity following divorce and the sale of property on behalf of executors.
Alex prides himself on his work ethic and his down to earth manner. In his spare time, Alex is an enthusiastic rock climber as well as a student of traditional Jiu Jitsu.
John Dobie is an experienced solicitor with over 40 years’ practice in residential property work. Based out of our Exmouth office, John continues to specialise in residential property and is also responsible for residential and commercial property file audits and reviews throughout the firm.
Prior to joining Everys, John was a senior partner with a large regional firm based in Exeter for many years. He was also Head of the firm’s Residential Property Department and ran one of its branch offices before relocating to their Head Office in Exeter.
John acts for clients from many parts of the country as well as Devon. He has enjoyed a close working relationship with Everys since working in East Devon in the late 1980’s.
John has a pleasant and approachable manner.
Kathryn Simpson has specialised in residential conveyancing since 1995, qualifying as a solicitor in 1998. She works as an in-house locum providing cover for our residential conveyancing lawyers across all of our South West offices. Kathryn’s many years’ experience, together with her friendly, flexible and pragmatic approach, ensure that our clients receive a high quality and seamless service during times of need. When not covering at other offices, Kathryn is based at our Exmouth office where she deals with the less time critical aspects of residential conveyancing work such as dealing with property following a death or divorce, complex registrations, property transfers and equity release.
Prior to joining Everys, Kathryn spent a number of years as Head of Residential Conveyancing at two Midlands based firms during which time she led both conveyancing teams to win awards. Kathryn relocated to the South West with her family in summer 2017.
Rachel Craddy is an Associate Solicitor in the Conveyancing Department based in Exeter. With over 13 years’ experience, Rachel has vast practical knowledge of all aspects of conveyancing and has advised on:
- Residential conveyancing
- Rectifying deeds
- Restrictive covenants
- Development plots
- Deeds of Grant
- Transfers of parts
- Unregistered land
- Leasehold enfranchisement
- Right to buy / social housing
Rachel’s experience includes:
- Acting for clients acquiring a site for residential development, then drafting and dealing with the subsequent individual plot sales and management company set up for the communal areas.
- Acting in the surrender and re-grant of residential leases from a resident owned management company, including re-drawing plans to reflect the individual demised premises, negotiating service charge proportions and maintenance responsibilities.
- Drafting deeds to assist in the grant, release or variation of easements e.g. rights of way, and covenants (restrictions on use of a property).
- Lease extensions for both landlords and tenants on a consensual basis.
- Rural conveyancing including flying freeholds, septic tanks, conversions, listed buildings, S157 residency restrictions.
Rachel is a member of Women in Property and also the Devon & Somerset Law Society.
Julie Hemming joined Everys in October 2018 as a Residential Conveyancer. Based in the Taunton office, Julie has exceptional knowledge of the local and surrounding areas, having lived and worked in Wellington for 30 years.
Julie has worked in conveyancing since 2001 and has been a fee earner since 2014. She is enthusiastic in her dealings with her clients, and believes that exceptional service is key to her success and the reason why clients recommend her to family and friends. Julie’s approach to her work is to make the conveyancing process as stress-free as possible for her clients.
Tracy Willows is an Associate at Everys, specialising in residential conveyancing. Having qualified in 1995, Tracy initially specialised in civil litigation before transferring to property in 2002.
Tracy undertakes all aspects of residential property work and is known for her ‘can do’ attitude and friendly, approachable manner. She is frequently re-instructed by satisfied clients and recommended to others. Tracy aims to ensure that the whole conveyancing process is as seamless and stress-free as possible.
Tracy has an excellent knowledge of the local area, having worked in Exeter, East Devon and the surrounding area for over ten years.
Tracy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
