About Andrew Smith - Partner at Everys Solicitors

Andrew Smith is a Partner in our Commercial department and is based at our Exeter office. With 25 years’ experience in Company and Commercial Law in the UK, Andrew provides strategic legal advice to businesses across a range of sectors.

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2000, having previously qualified in Australia, and specialises in company law and banking & finance with a strong interest in the technology sector, structured finance and equity investing in the SME sector advising both tech companies and investors.    

Andrew is currently working in AI, fintech and software licensing with various clients. He has wide experience in M&A work, corporate finance, shareholder advisory, investment and equity structuring and advising both borrowers and major lending institutions on property, project, and asset-based finance deals.

Andrew’s recent work includes:

• In 2024 advising an AI company on its Series A Funding Round
• In 2024 advising vendors on the sale of multiple insurance brokerages to a UK PLC
• In 2025 is advising on investment funding for film projects featuring international performance artists
