About Emma Davies - Associate at Everys Solicitors
Emma Davies joined Everys in July 2024 as an Associate in the Exeter Litigation Team; she provides advice in relation to Employment Law and Professional Discipline.
Emma is a compassionate lawyer who enjoys getting to know her clients to enable her to fully understand their needs and gives advice as to the best approach for their personal circumstances. She was inspired to requalify as a lawyer after taking a module in law at university and wanting a career where she could make a difference to people going through challenging periods in their lives. She prefers a collaborative approach with third parties but is not afraid to strongly advocate for her clients to secure the best possible outcome.
Prior to joining Everys, Emma worked for the Royal College of Nursing for 13 years representing nurses in relation to various proceedings before their regulator the Nursing & Midwifery Council – Fitness to Practise Proceedings, Fraudulent & Incorrect Entry, Revalidation Appeals, applications for Voluntary Removal from the register and appeals brought by the Professional Standards Authority. She also assisted with investigations by the Disclosure & Barring Service and challenged intended disclosure of additional information on DBS Certificates by the Police. Prior to working for the RCN Emma worked in private practice specialising in various aspects of Claimant Personal Injury – Road Traffic Accidents, Employers Liability and Public Liability.
Emma was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2010 and was one of the founding members of the CILEX Devon Branch (now CILEX Members Devon). She served on the committee for 10 years in various roles, including Chair, watching the branch scoop awards for ‘Most Innovative Branch’ and ‘Best Branch.’ Her involvement with the branch has provided a great opportunity to fly the flag for the CILEX route to qualification as a lawyer through events, attending careers fairs and networking with both CILEX members and other parts of the legal profession. Emma served as a Council Member for the period 2013 – 2016 and rejoined the restructured Professional Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2020.
Emma served as the 60th CILEX President for 2023 – 2024 and remains involved with the institute as a Non-Executive Director.
Emma is also a Trustee of The CILEX Foundation, an independent charity supporting CILEX members, students and those who aspire to become CILEX lawyers.
Emma was ‘Highly commended’ in the CILEX Awards ‘Advancing the Legal Profession’ category in 2018.
