Employment Lawyer – Full or Part-time applications will be considered

Our Litigation Department deals with a broad range of civil litigation work and currently comprises six fee earners together with support staff.

We currently have a vacancy for a part-time employment lawyer to join the team for 2.5 to 3 days per week.  We will consider a full-time lawyer if they have a second specialism to offer.

The successful candidate is expected to be at least 3 years’ plus PQE and able to work profitably and efficiently; with a minimum of supervision.

The role will include: conducting legal research into past cases and documents; drafting and preparing claims, employment contracts, or other legal documentation; providing legal advice to clients; negotiating on behalf of clients; representing clients in court and tribunal hearings; working in the best interests of employers and employees; and keeping up to date with new developments in employment legislation.

Ideally, you will be based in our Exeter office although consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based from any one of our following offices –  Taunton, Crewkerne, Tiverton, Exeter, Honiton, or Exmouth. An element of hybrid working is available once you have passed your probation.

You may also be required on occasion to travel to our South West-based office or to client premises for meetings and/or business development events.

There will also be opportunities to become involved in the firm’s marketing and business development plan and attend networking and social events.

We offer a good benefits package, and the post will provide excellent career prospects for the successful candidate.

The firm has been rapidly expanding in recent years, with a merger in 2022; the opening of our new Tiverton office in January 2024, and several new partner promotions and lateral hires. In June 2023, we won the DASLS Law Firm of the Year award ( £3M+ turnover ). There is a real ‘feel good factor’ and staff say they “really enjoy working here”.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our great team and future, working in a professional and friendly atmosphere offering a competitive salary.  If you are looking for a new challenge please send your CV to jo.garrod@everys.co.uk.
