Good Divorce Week: Putting Families and Children First with the Resolution Code of Practice

By Connie Shelley

At Everys, we follow the Resolution Guide to Good Practice in all our matters. By being members of Resolution, we commit to its Code of Practice, which shapes the way we work every day. It sets out the professional values and principles that guide us in helping clients navigate family matters, such as separation, with respect and understanding.

Good Divorce Week, led by Resolution, is an annual campaign that highlights the importance of these core values and the positive difference they make for families. We understand that, unfortunately, it is often the children who are most affected when parents separate. That is why we work to ensure that every case is handled with compassion, care and a focus on putting the best interests of children first.

The breakdown of a marriage or civil partnership can be an emotional and overwhelming experience and professional support should never make things harder. Resolution members promote a supportive and constructive way of working that helps families move forward without unnecessary conflict and reach fair, lasting agreements that protect everyone’s wellbeing, especially the children.

By following the Resolution Code of Practice, we aim to help families achieve the best possible outcomes while minimising stress and emotional impact.
